Ketchum Town Square and Visitor Center

Posted: December 18, 2017 by Rebekah Holten

For those of you that aren’t familiar with the area, Sun Valley is a resort and an incorporated city (meaning there is no commercial center except the resort). This means that Ketchum is the local “city” and where our office as well as much of the action takes place! The Ketchum town square is a must-visit if you are coming to the area along with the visitor center!

At the visitor center, you will be greeted by a friendly face, brief history lesson, and an abundance of information. It is also a great place to stop for a good cup of Joe as it is located inside a non-corporate owned Starbucks! The architecture of the building is pretty neat and it is very close to the town square, so it is definitely worth the stop.

Right in the center of Ketchum sits the Ketchum Town Square surrounded by the Visitors Center and Giacobbi Square. The town square features a large stage, a fountain for dogs, rotating public art installations, a large fire pit, chess tables, and best of all, Leroy’s Ice Cream stand in the summer! The Town Square holds a lot of seasonal activities including the Wood River Farmers’ Market, free yoga classes and free concerts in the summer! They also hold seasonal activities such as the Seasonal Holiday Market (with music, fresh produce, baked goods, scarves, jams and SO MUCH more) and the tree lighting ceremony (which also features carolers and bonfires). The atmosphere is always fun and lighthearted when you are attending an event. If you are visiting the area make both of these locations a quick stop to get important information and a feel for our amazing community.
